AUSTRALIAN SONGBOOK - WOOLGOOLGA

Mitch Grainger and Jack Thompson Mitch Grainger first met acclaimed actor, Jack Thompson, while working on music for the the Australian feature film “December Boys”, starring Jack Thompson and Daniel Radcliffe.

In May 2009, Mitch invited Jack to work on Australian Songbook in Woolgoolga, where Jack spends much of his spare time, between starring in films such as ‘Australia’ and hosting Channel Seven's No 1. rating TV show ‘Find My Family’. Together they invited Woolgoolga's local residents to email in stories about their town, which were used as inspiration for a new song.

In addition to shooting the Australian Songbook Pilot, the pair held songwriting workshops at local schools, conducted newspaper and radio interviews, wrote a song entitled "Woolgoolga" and performed at the historic Seaview Tavern.

Mitch Grainger and Jack Thompson would like to thank the people of Woolgoolga, for helping make the first chapter of 'AUSTRALIAN SONGBOOK' such a success!
